ACADEMICS

EARLY LEARNING CENTER

Providence Early Learning Center is a ministry of Providence Baptist Church.

The church has been ministering to families since 1877. Providence Christian School was instituted in 1965 and the preschool was established in 1968.

When parents place their child in our program they are entrusting to us their most precious possession. We realize this and seek to conduct our preschool in a manner worthy of that trust and confidence. Besides receiving a wonderful education, the children will receive godly responses to their needs, fears, and frustrations, similar to the responses provided by their parents. We consider ourselves as nurturers of God’s creations, providing them with both academic and biblical training.

ELEMENTARY

The elementary program consists of grades Kindergarten through sixth. Spiritual, qualified, ministry-minded teachers make elementary school a haven for learning. We emphasize the Bible, language, reading, math, science, and history. We use the Abeka curriculum exclusively in our elementary. Music, physical education, art, and the library are all included in the curriculum. Band is introduced to fifth and sixth graders. Private piano lessons are also available. We offer intramural sports in volleyball and basketball for sixth graders.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

The middle school program serves students in grades seventh through eighth. All academic classes are listed in the middle school portion of the PCS handbook and a wide range of school sports are offered. We use Abeka and BJU Press in our Middle School classes. Private and group music lessons are also offered for band, and private piano lessons. Each student has eight classes each day and learns to accept responsibility for both school materials and schedules. The middle school faculty are well equipped to minister to each student and reinforce Biblical values

HIGH SCHOOL
The senior high school program encompasses the 9th- 12th grades. The primary academic purpose of senior high school is to prepare students for college. The honors college preparatory program is designed with scholarships in mind. Most of the students are on a college preparatory track. These students receive a core curriculum that most colleges require for admission. Extracurricular activities in sports, music, art, and drama are provided for students to have a well-rounded program. Graduates of Providence Christian School have distinguished themselves in almost every profession.

Notice Of Nondiscriminatory Policy As To Students. Providence Christian School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs
